A place set apart

Centuries of history in the heart of the Matarranya

La Virgen de la Fuente has welcomed weary travellers for over 500 years. It was built to accommodate pilgrims to the site where the Virgin reportedly appeared by the natural springs in the 13th century.

The upper hermitage is a remarkable example of Gothic-Mudejar style, while the later lower hermitage, showcases a stunning Baroque style. With panels depicting New Testament scenes and a splendid coffered Mudejar ceiling, it is an outstanding cultural sight.
